Flätade hjärtan / Braided Hearts

Vi är ännu en gång med i en kreativ tävling från DaWanda. Den här gången handlar tävlingen om att skapa en kreativ juldekoration. Att flätade hjärtan i papper är något som gjorts på otaliga pysselkvällar inför jul. Möjligheten till variation är näst intill oändlig, man kan använda olika papper, olika färger och olika flättekniker. Vi har idag valt att fläta i tyg och vi återanvänder gamla jeans!

Once again we’re participating in a creative contest from DaWanda. This time the challenge is to create a creative Christmas decoration. Making braided hearts in paper is something done on countless crafts evenings in Sweden before Christmas. They can be varied endlessly, you can use different paper, different colors and different techniques. Today we recycle our old jeans, we have chosen to braid hearts in fabric!

Ni behöver gamla jeans och sax.

You need old jeans and scissors.

1. Börja med att ladda ner vår mall här. Klipp jeansen enligt mallen och vik dem på hälften. Vi gör det här hjärtat i typ och papper för att ni lättare ska se hur man flätar.

1. Start by downloading our template here. Cut the jeans according to the template and fold them in half. To make the braiding more visible this heart is made in jeans and paper.

2. Väv försiktigt ihop delarna. Det viktiga att tänka på att hjärtat ska gå att öppna. Om ni aldrig flätat ett hjärta förut hittar du en tydlig instruktion på hur man flätar här.

2. Gently braid the pieces together. The important thing to keep in mind is that you should be able to open the heart when it’s done. If you have never braided a heart before you can find excellent instructions on how to braid here.

Hjärtanen blir inte lika stabila som om man flätar dem i papper. Vill ni hänga dem i granen kan de behöva stärkas. Vi använder våra att duka med!

The hearts are not as sturdy as if you braid them in paper. If you want to hang them on the Christmas tree, they may need to be reinforced. We use ours to set the table with!
