I always been fascinated by Swedish Christmas traditions and last week I went with Gina from Willowday to Skansen to learn more. In Skansen’s old wooden houses, in the glowing light of candles, we got a sweet history lesson on Christmas decorations of yesteryear. We were told of edible decorations and candles on the fragile Christmas tree branches.
We also got to make a few ornaments from the past. “Partially Gilded Walnuts” and Cotton Angels made of paper and cotton wool, for example. More about Skansen can be found on their website.
