A few years ago we turned a globe with a broken map into a lamp. Josephine wrote to us and she wants to know how we got the globe off its fixture. Here is how we do it.
Det finns olika modeller av jordglober och de sitter fast på like olika sätt. Den jordglob vi gjorde lampan av är i glas och den har en meridian i metall. För att lossa globen tar man ett stadigt tag i meridianen och lyfter upp den lilla piggen som sitter i hålet på glasgloben. Vi tog hjälp av en tygbit för att få ett bättre grepp om meridianen. När meridianen är lossad i överkant kan man försiktigt lyfta av globen från lampan i underkanten på meridianen.
We also have a globe in the plastic and it has a plastic pin at the top of the meridian. To get the off its fixture squeeze the pin, keep a firm grip on the globe, and lift out the sprint. Then gently lift the globe from the light. Done!
